Comparison of Elastic Moduli of LPBF 316H Material Using RUS Measurements and Destructive Mechanical Testing: M3CT-23PN1305091

Abstract

Preliminary results are presented on performing Resonance Ultrasound Spectroscopy (RUS) measurements on stainless steel 316 H fabricated using Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) additive manufacturing methods. The elastic constants determined using RUS measurements are compared to tensile tests and RUS measurements on wrought stainless steel 316 L. Good agreement is found between the RUS measurements and the mechanical testing results.
