Biography

Nathan Phillips is a mechanical engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in the Experimental and Computational Engineering Group within the Energy and Environment Directorate. He is an integral part of the Rapid Prototyping Lab. In this role, he utilizes his engineering expertise to integrate mechanical, electrical, chemical, and control systems to make prototypes to meet client objectives. This helps to accomplish the lab’s mission to provide engineering support by utilizing modern tools and rapid processes to provide client solutions quicker and cheaper than common conventional methods.

Phillips also has experience working on projects ranging from evaluating a geotechnical compaction model for the estimation of sediment deformation to a grid-adaptive harmonic absorption recuperative power and cooling system.
