Biography

Melanie St Clair is the group leader for the Strategic Threat Analysis group in the National Security Directorate’s Emerging Threats and Technologies Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She joined PNNL in November 2023 following a successful career in the intelligence community where she led and managed teams in complex crisis situations, delivering key intelligence while keeping colleagues safe and focused. St Clair has extensive experience in writing, analyzing, discussing, and presenting the potential impact of geopolitical events and security crises, triaging operational objectives, and thriving in high-stress, high-speed environments. Her experience also includes managing coordination, deconfliction, and collaboration with multiple U.S. agencies and private industry stakeholders for foreign and U.S.-based projects. Prior, St Clair was an associate attorney at Masuda, Funai, Eifert & Mitchell, LLC in Chicago, Illinois, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and banking for foreign companies doing business in the United States. She received her JD from Northern Illinois University College of Law and her BA in political science and French from Rockford University.
