James L. Spracklen is a principal advisor for the National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He also serves as program manager for the Weapons of Mass Destruction Counterproliferation Training and Border Security/Interdiction Programs, as well as the Critical Energy Infrastructure Protection Program at PNNL. These programs support the U.S. Department of State, the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Department of Homeland Security. 

Prior to joining PNNL, Jim spent 28 years with DOE at the Richland Operations Office. He was the program manager of the Volpentest Hazardous Materials Management and Emergency Response Federal Training Center at the Hanford Site. From 1992 to 2002, he served as Hanford’s director of security and emergency services. While with DOE, Spracklen served as the first deputy assistant secretary for DOE’s Office of Infrastructure Security and Energy Restoration. From 1978 to 1981, Spracklen served on the Kennewick Police Department in Kennewick, Washington.
