Biography

Catherine Roberts is a group leader for Operational Readiness in the National Security Directorate at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She manages and stewards the group’s capabilities associated with mission assurance, and the operations and maintenance stages of the systems engineering life cycle. Roberts believes timely and honest feedback is crucial for a well-functioning team and capability.

Previously, Roberts spent over a decade as a project manager working in nuclear nonproliferation programs at the Department of Energy (DOE). As a project manager at PNNL, she managed numerous nuclear nonproliferation efforts for DOE, with a focus on international implementation and sustainability projects of varying sizes and complexity. Before joining PNNL, she worked for the DOE National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation for four years where she managed a project portfolio of 12 major Asian countries for the Office of Radiological Security (formerly the Office of Global Threat Reduction).

Roberts has been a certified Project Management Professional since 2013 and presented two papers at the International Atomic Energy Agency’s International Conference on the Security of Radioactive Material in December 2018. She holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Georgetown University.
