Biography

Cassie is a communications professional specializing in science writing, content creation, and storytelling. At Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), she supports communications efforts related to the laboratory's wind energy and residential building technology research. She manages a variety of communications projects with a focus on translating complex topics for non-technical audiences and sharing the real-world impacts of PNNL's innovative work.

Her work has spanned a variety of additional renewable energy and environmental topics, including solar energy, biofuels, sustainable materials, grid resilience, renewable energy integration, hydropower, and geothermal energy. Her communications experience also encompasses broader topics such as energy policy, STEM education, energy equity and justice, energy infrastructure, workforce development, disaster recovery, and more.

After earning her bachelor's degree in English and psychobiology, Cassie gained years of broad marketing and communications experience before earning a Professional Renewable and Sustainable Energy Certificate from the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, a joint program between the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory designed to address important, complex energy challenges that require a multidisciplinary approach.
