Biography

Alyssa Gorrell joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2022 as a communications professional, supporting the National Security and the Energy and Environment Directorates. Here, she has written news articles, designed newsletters, created PNNL.gov webpages, and led the lab-wide Science as Art campaign.

Before joining PNNL, she interned for JCDREAM as a communications coordinator supporting the CHARGE initiative, a consortium for hydrogen and renewably generated e-fuels. There, she extracted data from online survey tools to create visual reports, used online marketing software to track connections of potential projects in the support of H2Hubs, and supported the team’s administrative needs.

Gorrell graduated from Washington State University Everett, majoring in integrated strategic communication and minoring in environmental science. While a student, she was the director of communications for the Everett Wind Energy Team. With this interdisciplinary club, she gained experience in project management, event planning, public awareness campaigns, social media activity, and developed content creation from conception to delivery.

Gorrell is ambitious in supporting the creation of a sustainable future and is proud to be a part of PNNL’s efforts to transform the world.
