In this presentation, Tom Metz will describe his team’s work applying mass spectrometry-based omics—measurements of thousands of molecules, such as proteins, metabolites, and lipids simultaneously—in basic studies of the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of diabetes mellitus, the molecular basis for diabetic complications, and in the search for novel biomarkers of developing autoimmunity.
