The 16th International Glass Corrosion Workshop will be held May 23-24, 2024, in conjunction with the American Ceramic Society (ACerS) Glass and Optical Materials Division (GOMD) 2024 meeting in Las Vegas, NV (May 19–23). This iteration of the workshop is supported by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Washington River Protection Solutions, LLC (WRPS).

As usual, the International Glass Corrosion Workshop will be held immediately following the ACerS GOMD program—starting Thursday afternoon, May 23, and all day Friday, May 24, at the Circa Resort and Casino (Carousel II/III meeting room), in the vicinity of the GOMD conference. With the support from PNNL and WRPS, there is no cost to participate in the workshop although space is limited. Professionals, academia, and students are all welcome to attend and present.

Topic areas include new and modified corrosion testing and characterization techniques, composition and structural dependence of glass corrosion, glass corrosion modeling, and realistic tests, near-field interactions, and corrosion in disposal conditions. The topic list evolves based on input from participants at the beginning of the workshop to capture areas of interest to the community. The informal setting gives everyone the chance to exchange ideas and provide input on emerging research and applications.
