Biography

Dr. Krishnamurthy received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Arizona State University in atmospheric fluid dynamics and remote sensing. He then worked in the industry for three years as senior research scientist. From 2014 to 2016 he was also a member of the International Electrotechnical commission (IEC) and helped draft and frame the wind resource assessment standards (IEC 61400-15). Dr. Krishnamurthy has been a part of several international projects, notably C-FOG, MISO-BOB, Perdigão, CASPER, T-REX, SESAR XP1, UFO and CHATS. He has helped develop novel synchronized triple Doppler lidar systems and motion compensation platforms during his tenure at University of Notre Dame. Currently he works as a Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and focuses on developing better signal processing algorithms and machine learning techniques to characterize the atmospheric boundary layers (onshore/offshore) and various cloud processes using remote sensing data. His area of specialization is in Atmospheric fluid dynamics, aircraft safety, boundary layer meteorology, machine learning, remote sensing, sustainability engineering, urban air pollution, wind energy, & wind engineering.
