The electric grid—the largest manmade machine—powers our daily lives and our nation’s economy. In its current state, the grid is not ready to meet modern electricity demands in a more digital economy. It also cannot meet the complex challenges brought on by widespread adoption of distributed energy resources, electrification of transportation, and increased customer choice.
