Dr. Timothy C. Droubay is a senior staff scientist for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's oxide epitaxy group in the Physical and Computational Sciences Directorate. After becoming a staff scientist in 2002, Dr. Droubay has conducted materials research in the growth of complex metal oxide films, nanoparticles, and multilayers deposited by pulsed laser deposition and reactive oxygen assisted molecular beam epitaxy. The current thrust of his research centers around the interplay of structural, electronic, and magnetic properties in transition metal oxides, complex oxides, nanoparticles, and multilayers. Dr. Droubay has been instrumental in the development and maintenance of the laboratory's pulsed laser deposition system. He also leads the start-up of the laboratory's electrotransport, magnetotransport, and magnetic measurements capabilities housed in the environmental molecular sciences laboratory.

Prior to joining Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 2000, Dr. Droubay served as a physics instructor at the Waukesha County Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where he taught undergraduate physics courses designed around engineering, medical technology, and pre-med students.
