Partnerships
Partnerships with universities, other laboratories and industry merge the best talent to address the nation's most challenging problems while promoting scientific discovery and education. FCSD researchers are stewards for the following formal partnerships on behalf of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL):
- Joint Global Change Research Institute
PNNL and the University of Maryland have formed the Joint Global Change Research Institute to support policy-relevant research by integrating the social sciences and natural science aspects of global change. - Institute for Systems Biology
The Institute for Systems Biology and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory have established a partnership to leverage strengths in biology and computation. Goals of the partnership include building the infrastructure to solve complex biological problems faster, refining the technological and computational abilities to measure and predict complex cell behavior, and strengthening existing collaborative research and development projects in systems biology. ISB, located in Seattle, is an internationally renowned non-profit research institute dedicated to the study and application of systems biology for predictive and preventive medicine.
