Ellis contributes to National Academies' report

Paul Ellis
PNNL Laboratory Fellow Paul Ellis helped prepare a recent report from the National Research Council that discusses and analyzes high-field magnetic science. The report, Opportunities in High Field Magnetic Science (http://books.nap.edu/catalog/11211.html), provides an overview and prognosis for high-field magnet technology and its use in science and technology. Technical challenges are identified, and recommendations for national strategies to advance magnet technology are presented. The report is of interest to PNNL because of its investment in and use of high-field magnet technologies for nuclear magnetic resonance, imaging, and mass spectrometry research. Ellis is a member of the National Academies' international Committee on Opportunities in High Magnetic Field Science.
