Systems Biology Article Appears in The Scientist
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Chief Scientist Steven Wiley authored an invited feature on systems biology that appears in the June 2006 issue of The Scientist. "Systems biology: beyond the buzz" gives Wiley's perspective on systems biology, where the field is today and describes his experiences in using a systems biology approach in his research. It also points to other areas of biology that can productively use a systems approach. The article is attached as a PDF and can be accessed at The Scientist home page (http://www.the-scientist.com/).
Wiley, who leads PNNL's Biomolecular Systems Initiative, is on the editorial board of The Scientist, a monthly publication that covers the latest developments in the life sciences. His research has focused on understanding cell communication mechanisms using the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) system.
