Technology Procurement
Technology procurement is a strategy to "pull" new technologies and products into the marketplace through competitive procurements backed by large volume buyers. DOE and PNNL have implemented technology procurements to spur development of subcompact fluorescent lamps (sub-CFLs), high-performance rooftop air conditioners, and other products, as well as high-efficiency recessed downlights.
