CFL Reflector Products

R-CFL Innovation Competition Winners

Sixteen reflector CFL (R-CFL) models have met all minimum requirements of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) two-phase R-CFL Technology Innovation Competition.

These high-performance R-CFLs passed rigorous specifications, as well as testing requirements that simulated the high-heat environment typically found in residential recessed downlights. These models successfully demonstrated an Average Rated Life of at least 6,000 hours in Elevated Temperature Life Testing (ETLT), which many far surpassed, and met minimum specifications for light output, beam angle, and maximum operating temperature. See the R-CFL model fact sheet for more information (PDF 363 KB).

These models are offered by four manufacturers and represent a broad spectrum of lamp types, ranging from 15 to 26 watts, and include parabolic aluminized reflectors, elliptical reflectors, a dimmable lamp, and lamps for indoor or outdoor use. Each lamp is ENERGY STAR qualified.

Current models are available at a variety of retail locations (see individual model details below) and from the Energy Federation Incorporated (EFI). For an overview of all models, see our Quick Facts sheet (PDF 92 KB).
