Abstract
This article describes the development of ASHRAE's first Advanced Energy Design Guide for Small Office Buildings, targeted at saving 30% energy over the requirements of ASHRAE Standard 90.1-1999. The article discusses the driving forces as well as the charge to the committee, and then goes on to discuss the development of the document and the resulting energy savings achieved.
