Presentation to Leadership Team (LT)
The presentation, given by Todd Hart and Vern Madson, went well, a positive response was received from the LT. Todd and Vern asked for LT support in such areas as staff time. Request: half dozen people/directorate, 4-6 hours/person/month. Todd to check progress next week as to relay of this message to middle management.

Mary Ann Showalter will announce upcoming pamplet/survey with site-wide email. Cutoff date for pamplet revisions to be this Friday. Cindi Gregg will give the pamplet to Duplicating, who will run off and fold it. Pamplets will then go to mail room. Final cost $.07-$.09/copy. (Note: Color printing would cost $1.00/, black and white, $.05, color paper upcharge of $.13, 16# ivory paper selected.) Numbers needed: 1/person at Battelle, some for Expo, some spare copies. Decision made to use Adrian Roberts quote for now, and not solicit new quote from Lura Powell at this time.
Roby Enge Comments
Lura Powell personally assured him of commitment to safety. LT will now be emphasized in new contract negotiations with DOE. LT was impressed by project plan with dates. LT saw advantage of STAR status with attendant increase in competitive edge. Bottom-up involvement welcomed. Steering committee comments: Mary Ann to publicize as we progress. Idea to solicit Lura Powell memo to lab after we brief her on program. Idea to invite Lura Powell to a VPP meeting. We should take credit for IOPS in VPP application. IOPS should be Lab-wide, and should be in SBMS. will be put in IESH management system. (We can note where IOPS is implemented, where it still needs to be implemented, and timetable for implementation given.) IOPS and stop work authority: Monty Rosbach is a good source for where we are with IOPS.
Survey and Safety Award
Sample mugs were passed around (glass, ceramic, stainless). Mug must be referred to as "safety award", and not as a "prize". Site-wide email to announce safety award for completion of VPP survey. Logos: VPP one side, PNNL other side. Survey to be completed in specific time period; most responses expected in first 1-2 weeks, 4 week turnaround on orders, 2 weeks left to process survey data before mugs arrive. Distribution to be set by building in specific time frame, table to be set up, VPP posters and info available, steering committe members to distribute. Database of responses will identify areas of weakness for targeting future informational campaigns.
