Minutes from February 2, 2000 VPP Steering Committee Meeting

VPP Steering Committee Meeting
Wednesday, February 2, 2000
ETB Columbia River Room

The meeting commenced at 2:35 p.m.

Leadership Team

Todd developed a PMP for presentation to the Leadership Team. The PMP includes R2A2s, action items completed, and a schedule. Todd Hart and Vern Madson plan to meet with the Leadership Team mid-February to give them a 30-minute presentation. If the presentation goes well, Vern and Todd also plan on presenting to the IOPS committee.

Application

The draft application is targeted to be completed by the end of May.

VPP Pamphlet

The pamphlet is almost ready for printing. We are waiting for a letter to be signed by Adrian Roberts. Once the pamphlet is finalized, Russ Meicenheimer and Janice Haney will get Mary Ann Showalter a list of questions for the electronic survey to be sent to staff.

VPP Recognition Awards

Nancy Isern and Russ agreed to be on this committee. These are the awards that will be given to staff who complete the VPP electronic survey and correctly answer the questions. Vern mentioned that Gary Louie of the Battelle Staff Association is coming up with ideas and prices for these prizes. It will take 3 to 4 weeks for the prizes to come in.

Safety Expo Committee

The Safety Expo will be held at TRAC in Pasco May 2, 3, and 4, 2000. VPP will have a 10 x 10 ft booth there (Battelle will have its own booth). John Reck is in charge of coordinating the VPP booth. He is in the process of forming a subcommittee and coordinating volunteers to work the booth. Contact John if you want to volunteer.

Region X Conference

The Region X Conference is to be held May 10 - 12, 2000, in Seattle. This year, they are asking all companies that attend to bring a 3 x 5 ft poster that advertises their business. Last year, many of the attendees didn't know what each company does. We will be developing a collage-type poster showing different aspects of work at PNNL.

We will also be compiling a list of attendees. We have rooms locked in at the government rate at the Sea-Tac Doubletree.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
