Staff Awareness in
the Laboratory
- In May 2003, VPP was present at the 2003 Health
and Safety Exposition at the TRAC facility in Pasco, WA. This event, sponsored
by the DOE made many safety organizations visible to the community and
to other DOE contractors.
- In December 2002, staff were again asked to respond
to a survey to evaluate their impression of safety and health at the Laboratory.
More than 1500 staff responded, providing the VPP Steering Committee with
results they can use to improve the Safety and Health Program at PNNL.
- In December 2001, staff were asked to respond to
a survey to evaluate their impression of safety and health at the Laboratory.
Over 1200 staff responded, providing the VPP Steering Committee with results
they can use to improve the Safety and Health Program at PNNL.
- To raise staff awareness of VPP in the Laboratory,
we have implemented the VPP Porcelain Press.
The Porcelain Press is a one-page newsletter designed to be displayed
in the restrooms of the Laboratory's buildings. The VPP Steering Committee's
goal is to make sure that information about VPP sticks in the memory of
each staff member at PNNL.
- VPP provided each staff member with a VPP
informational card to be worn with their badges.
