Todd Hay is a research line manager and program manager for CHESS at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He started his career as an officer and then a physical scientist with the Air Force working geospatial analytics. He transitioned to the MITRE Corporation, where he worked as a systems and software engineer, leading large teams supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and other governmental organizations. Following MITRE, he worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as a data program manager supporting fisheries research on the West Coast. He then came to PNNL as the program manager and chief architect for the eight-laboratory Department of Energy North American Energy Resilience Model program. More recently, he has been supporting a variety of DoD and other sponsors, as well as serving as a team leader and group leader for the Software Engineering and Architectures group, and then as the acting division director for the Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics division in the National Security Directorate. Hay received his BS in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his MS in geographic information science from the University of London, and his PhD in cognitive and neural systems from Boston University.
