Biography

Jesenia Hernandez joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in early 2023 as a communications professional supporting the Energy and Environment Directorate. In 2020, Hernandez graduated from Gonzaga University with a masters in communications and leadership. She has past work experience at Mid-Columbia Libraries, FirstFruits Farms, LLC (formerly Broetje Orchards), and Broetje Family Trust, where she served as a communications manager.

Hernandez is passionate about serving the Tri-Cities community. In 2017, she completed a 10-month service term with Regional Service Corps-AmeriCorps, earning the Bronze Presidential Service Award for completing 1770+ hours of service. Hernandez has earned a certificate in servant leadership and was awarded the 2021 Leo Award for Servant Leader of the Year by the Broetje Family Trust

Currently, Hernandez lives in Pasco, WA with her two young children. She was born in Quincy, WA but has spent most of her life in the Tri-Cities. Outside of her role as mom and professional, she has a passion for writing poetry, mentoring youth, and reading diverse content.
