Group Leader, Nuclear Signatures

Biography

Glen Warren is the group leader for the Nuclear Signatures group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Warren earned his PhD in experimental nuclear physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997.

Since joining PNNL in 2003, Warren has specialized in applying nuclear physics to various national security-related applications, ranging from arms control, safeguards, treaty verification, post-detonation nuclear forensics, and border protection. Recent work includes developing an attribute system for confirming plutonium or uranium-235 mass in warheads, developing an adhesive seal for high-security applications, developing acoustic techniques to measure uranium hexafluoride gas flow in gaseous centrifuge enrichment plants, developing measurement approaches in support of the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, and participating in the Quad Initiative.

Warren is interested in pursuing opportunities related to the connection between technology and policy in international treaties.
