Biography

Genoa Blankenship is a seasoned writer with more than 20 years of experience in print and digital communications. She joined PNNL in April 2019 and provided communications support to the hydropower, marine energy, solar energy, and geothermal energy portfolios for two years. Genoa led communications for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Water Power Technologies Office’s HydroPASSAGE project, which provides tools to industry to advance fish passage for hydropower. Genoa is a digital specialist for the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory, a DOE national scientific user facility on PNNL’s campus in Richland, Washington. In this role, Genoa is the social media manager for EMSL’s social media platforms; the webmaster for emsl.pnnl.gov; and a science writer covering EMSL-related biological and environmental research and user facility science.
