Biography

Elizabeth Golovich, PhD, joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2005 and is currently the group leader for the Experimental and Computational Engineering Group within the Energy and Environment Directorate. Utilizing her PhD in physical chemistry, Dr. Golovich leads a group of over 50 engineers, scientists, and support staff with expertise in multi-phase fluid dynamics, structural and safety analysis, heat transport, nuclear radiation modeling, and reactive transport from small to full scale. Under her stewardship, the group explores and delivers engineered solutions based on multidisciplinary expert analysis, experimentation, and computation.

Dr. Golovich’s research experience has evolved over the years, starting her career as a scientist working on standoff chemical detection. Her strengths in data organization, document generation, quality reviews, and task management allowed her to evolve to support a wide variety of research projects. Project areas have included waste treatment, groundwater and soil remediation at the Hanford Site, and more recently, radioactive material packaging.
