Allison Myers-Pigg is an aquatic organic geochemist interested in biogeochemical fluxes across environmental interfaces and the impact of disturbances on the biogeochemical linkages between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. She specializes in understanding the transport and transformation of organic matter across environmental interfaces, such as between terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems and across coastal interfaces. She employs molecular level techniques to address ecosystem level questions, using a blend of laboratory experiments, field efforts, and models to understand how ecosystems store and process carbon and other key nutrients.

Myers-Pigg is an Earth scientist in the Biological Sciences Division in the Earth and Biological Sciences Directorate and is located at the Marine and Coastal Research Laboratory in Sequim. She joined PNNL in 2019 and holds a joint appointment at the University of Toledo in the Department of Environmental Sciences. In her role at PNNL, she works on collaborative research across disciplines, and enjoys science communication, outreach, and mentoring.
