Quantitative Proteomics Applied to Cellular Function

David Camp, Session Chair

The expanding emphasis on systems biology requires corresponding advances in complementary areas such as imaging for spatial measurements, signaling for cellular regulation, genomic microarray analysis, and quantitative proteomics. This session will focus on the evolution of quantitative proteomics that represents an area of rapid technological development with new approaches capable of characterizing the global protein complement in specific tissues or cells to identify transient and dynamic protein roles associated with cellular function. Presentations will focus on currently available strategies and labeling methods for determining protein abundances in proteomic measurements.
