Modeling Signal Transduction in Space and Time

Haluk Resat, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory

Receptor endocytosis and sorting within cells is an integral part of the mechanism that controls signaling by Receptor Tyrosine Kinases. Using a dynamic multicompartment model, we investigate the importance of receptor trafficking on the signaling properties of the EGFR family of receptors. We particularly investigate the factors that alter the distribution of the receptors among the cellular compartments.
