Time-release pesticide

Fabric mulches keep down the weeds, but they can also create a breeding ground for unwanted pests. BioGuard Technologies of Kennewick, Wash., believes it may have licked the problem by combining fabric with time-release pesticides.

During manufacturing pesticide in slow-dissolving capsules is added to the fabric.

Requiring only 1/100th the amount of pesticides normally used, it could be a pest control technology even environmentalists could love.
