Science and Engineering Education at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
DOE Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham launched a Science Education Initiative today at a press conference in California. Dr. Peters issued the following statement in support of the initiative:
"Secretary Abraham's initiative underscores the outstanding science education programs we already have in place at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Whether it's bringing students here for a summer of hands-on learning in our laboratories, or working with school districts across the state to reform science education, our staff have long been committed to helping create the next generation of scientists and engineers. We look forward to working with DOE to continue improving and developing new ways to not only improve students' math and science literacy, but to really spark their interest in scientific and technical careers."
