RICHLAND, Wash. - Looking for high-quality science and technology photos? Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's "PictureThis" photo library offers hundreds of high-resolution tiff files and smaller jpeg files (for reporters, editors and others) over the web at http://PictureThis.pnl.gov. A concise caption, background information and links to related web sites are included with each photo.
The photo library, which debuted on May 18, includes photos of research in the areas of environmental science, pollution remediation and prevention, health, agriculture, national security, energy production and conservation, materials science and more. The photos are sorted by subject category, image type and title. And there's a search mechanism and index. Photos can be downloaded and used for free.
Reporters also can connect to the "PictureThis" photo library from Pacific Northwest's "News & Information" web page at http://www.pnl.gov/news.
