Battelle names new human resources director
RICHLAND, WA -- Richard C. Adams has been named director of Human Resources at the Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Pacific Northwest is operated by Battelle Memorial Institute.
As director, Adams will manage a staff of 74 people involved in development and diversity, recruitment and selection, performance management and rewards, and compliance.
Adams joined Battelle in 1977 as a research scientist. During his career with Battelle, he has held several management positions including Energy Systems Department manager, Technology Planning and Analysis Center manager and most recently as the associate director for Emerging Technologies.
He earned a bachelor's degree (1975) in economics from Millersville State University, Millersville, Pa.; a master's degree (1977) in economics from Washington State University, Pullman, Wash.; and a doctorate (1995) in science and technology policy from George Mason University, Fairfax, Va.
