In a new video series, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is highlighting six scientific and technical experts in the national security domain throughout the fall. Each was promoted to scientist and engineer level 5, one of PNNL’s most senior research roles, earlier this year and has made significant contributions to the national security science, technology, and innovations developed at PNNL.

Mark Hadley is a chief cybersecurity research scientist and his goal is to create resilient cyber systems support all our nation’s critical infrastructures.

“Many of these facilities are decades old, and so are the control systems that support them. The computing devices, the communications networks—I like to call that legacy technology,” said Hadley. “We have made great strides in changing that operational paradigm.”
