Advanced Radioanalytical Chemistry
PNNL offers world-class radioanalytical capabilities that significantly contribute to the security of the United States and the world. Our staff's expertise runs the gamut from radiochemical separations to ultra-trace mass spectrometric detection. Our staff use state-of-the-art equipment to perform work that spans the spectrum of basic science to unique analytical services. Much of the analytical services work that is performed requires measuring radionuclides at ultra-trace levels. Using our expertise in radiochemical separations, it is possible to make it easier to measure these radionuclides by reducing the background. Extensive instrument development capabilities are put to work to detect lower and lower levels of the radionuclides of interest.
