Nuclear Materials and Engineering Analysis
PNNL experts provide mechanical and nuclear engineering analysis that results in the maintenance and improvements of safety of nuclear facilities and operations. Our researchers' analyses also improve and develop new nuclear reactor technologies related to national defense, commercial nuclear power or other nuclear-facility-related activities. The engineering analysis consists of nuclear reactor safety analysis and core design, facility safety analysis, reactor thermal hydraulic analysis, criticality safety assessments, radiation shielding analysis and nuclear fuels and materials performance analysis.
