Ranata L. Johnson
Ranata Johnson is recognized for her passion and commitment to delivering better software faster. Her experience in the area of software engineering and management practices, with emphasis on software quality engineering and Agile/Scrum has lead teams to produce high quality software products that exceed customer expectations.
Her interests focus on implementing configuration management, test management, and testing, reviews and inspections practices, ensuring successful customer support and system installations, and understanding and implementing good software engineering practices which includes agile/scrum implementation. She also manages and promotes the software engineering capability, and leads the agile efforts for the laboratory, participates in and facilitates process improvement teams, and provides training to line/project staff on the software engineering best practices.
Education: B. S., Computer Science from Chico State University; Certification from West Coast University in Configuration Management; Certified Scrum Master; Certified Scrum Professional; Certified Product Owner
History: Prior to joining PNNL in 1991, Ms. Johnson developed Configuration Management tool sites and provided training and consulting on CM best practices at Expertware. She also served as Configuration Manger for missile systems defense contractor for Aerojet Engineering. Since joining PNNL, Ms. Johnson has been a quality auditor, a lead quality engineer, tester, test manager, ScrumMaster, project manager and scrum practioner. She is now a member of the Software Engineering and Architectures group within Computational Sciences Analytics Directorate (CSA).

Ms. Johnson has been an external reviewer for conference paper submissions for the Scrum Gathering 2011, and a book that was published on Configuration Management best practices.
