The Operational Planning and Logistics (OPL) technical group is highly skilled, rich in diversity, geographically distributed, and growing.

The mission of the OPL group is to deploy technical resources to product lines and sectors to meet their program/project development, technology development, and business development needs by performing applied research, development, and consulting in human factors and ergonomics, industrial engineering, manpower and personnel, operations research, systems analysis, training, logistics, and organizational effectiveness. Group members provide a wide range of capabilities to Battelle projects that taken together serve to enhance the productivity of people and processes, and to improve overall organizational effectiveness.

The OPL capability at PNNL includes experience across a broad spectrum of activities and technical disciplines. The staff perform problem-driven applied research, development, and consulting in human factors and ergonomics, industrial engineering, manpower and personnel, operations research, systems analysis, training, logistics, and organizational effectiveness.
