Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's strategy is to drive investment and capabilities toward solving problems of great global and national significance. The National Security Directorate (NSD) is charged with providing science, technologies and leadership to prevent and counter acts of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction by rapidly translating science into solutions.
NSD will address increasingly dynamic and sophisticated global threats through developing and delivering cutting-edge, relevant and unique science and technology capabilities to meet our clients' needs. NSD's two sector areas are vital to developing and executing a comprehensive business strategy that ensures successful development and delivery of innovative technology to our clients. The Sectors are responsible for understanding the directions and hard technical problems our clients face, In turn, the Sectors engage with the technical staff across the entire Lab to bring the right solutions to the clients that allow them to meet their challenges and have direct mission impact.
