Our health is highly dependent on technology. First there is the need to measure and monitor health. Miniature devices are being used to measure blood pressure, blood sugar levels, and other such measures. Then there is the quest for miniature surgical devices. Entire surgical procedures are being changed because new, miniature tools are being developed. For some surgical procedures, it no longer is necessary to make large incisions. Instead, a small hole through which to insert the surgical tool with a camera does the job.
