Chemicals
Today most of the chemicals we use are in the products we buy in stores. These chemicals are manufactured at large plants and then transported by truck, rail, or ship to yet another factory to make the products you buy. Microtechnology is providing an alternative approach. Miniature chemical factories can manufacture the final products where the markets are located. This reduces the need for much transportation and storage, resulting in fresher products for the consumer.
