![]() ICFRM9 Home Manuscript Preparation Instructions | Poster Preparation Instructions Transportation and Hotel Information | Social Activities Conference Committee Personnel | Contact Information Manuscript Preparation Instructions and Due DatePapers will be published in a conference volume of the Journal of Nuclear Materials and must be prepared according to the instructions for that journal. Those instructions are presented below along with length limitations for the manuscripts. Length of Papers: Invited papers for Plenary and Topical Sessions are to be limited to eight journal pages. Contributed papers (oral and poster) are to be limited to five journal pages. The main text (excluding the abstract and references) is limited to a maximum of 6000 words for the invited papers and 3500 words for the contributed ones. In calculating the words, the following equivalents should be used:
Papers exceeding the word limit will be returned to the authors for immediate revision. They will not be reviewed until such revision is made. Submission of papers: Manuscripts must be submitted for review no later than September 1, 1999. If it is submitted as hard copy, one original and three copies should be mailed to: Professor G. E. Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged. Electronic submissions should be prepared as a WordPerfect or Word file compatible with either Macintosh or PC computers (no post script or mark-up language files). These may be submitted on diskette (allowed formats 3.5 inch MS-DOS or Macintosh) to the same address above, or they may be e-mailed as an attachment to icfrm9@engineering.ucsb.edu A single hard copy, mailed to the above address, should also accompany an electronic submission. Submission of a manuscript implies it is not being simultaneously considered for publication elsewhere and that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication. Manuscript Format: The manuscript copies must be prepared with double line spacing and wide margins, on numbered pages, in order to aid reviewers. Please adhere to the following order of presentation: Article title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements, Appendices, References, Figure captions, Tables. You will find attached the list of key words for the Proceedings. Please supply up to six keywords appropriate for your paper. References to other work should be consecutively numbered in the text using square brackets and listed by number in the Reference list. Please refer to a recent issue of the journal for examples. Language: All papers must be written in English. Cover page: The paper ID code, as well as the name, complete postal address, telephone and fax numbers and the e-mail address of the corresponding author should be given on the cover page of the manuscript. Abstract: The abstract should not exceed 150 words. Illustrations: Illustrations for hard copy submissions should include one master set and three sets of copies. The line drawings in the master set should be from original laser printer or plotter output or drawn in black indian ink, with careful lettering, large enough (3-5 mm) to remain legible after reduction for printing. The photographs should be originals, with somewhat more contrast than is required in the printed version. They should be unmounted unless part of a composite figure. Any scale markers should be inserted on the photograph itself, not drawn below it. (Figures may be published in color, if this is judged essential by the editor. The publisher and the author will each bear part of the extra costs involved. Further information is available from the publisher.) After acceptance: You will be notified by the Publication Committee Chairman of ICFRM-9 of the acceptance of your article and invited to supply an electronic version of the accepted text and any required illustrations or photographs. In the course of the production process you will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. At the proof stage only printer's errors may be corrected. No changes in, or additions to, the edited manuscript will be accepted. Electronic manuscripts: The publisher welcomes the receipt of an electronic version of your accepted manuscript. If there is not already a copy of this (on diskette) with the journal editor at the time the manuscript is being refereed, you will be asked to send a file with the text of the accepted manuscript directly to the Publisher by e-mail or on diskette (allowed formats 3.5 inch or 5.25 inch MS-DOS, or 3.5 inch Macintosh) to the address given below. Please note that no deviations from the version accepted by the Editor of the journal are permissible without the prior and explicit approval by the Editor.
