Research Team

The scientific research in the GTSP is led by Dr. Jae Edmonds, who has long been recognized as an international leader in understanding the implications of climate change on economies and technology choice. Dr. Edmonds is also the Chief Scientist at the Joint Global Change Research Institute, a partnership between the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), which is operated by Battelle, and the University of Maryland. He leads an international research team that includes collaborators from program participants as well as leading international research institutions and draws on the technology expertise of the U.S. Department of Energy's national laboratories. Dr. Charlette Geffen, a senior manager with broad expertise in energy and environmental systems, transportation and technology management, manages Phase II of the GTSP in addition to her role as a member of the research team.

Model development has been possible through extensive collaboration with experts in a wide range of scientific disciplines from a variety of governmental, academic, and industry institutions.

International Steering Group

An international steering group representing diverse perspectives and interests from government agencies, research institutions, and private industry provides insight and expert review of GTSP research.

The program also supports a significant number of students from a variety of universities, both for advancing their educational experiences and for furthering the research goals of the program.
