PNNL has discovered that in equation A.7 on Page A.5, the units are not
given for the saturation areal density of gas. The units for NS
as the equation is given in A.7 are atoms/m². In the code, this
equation is divided by Avogrado's number to give the saturation areal density
of gas in units of moles/m²

PNNL has discovered an error in the flowchart in figure 3.1 on page 3.2
of NUREG/CR-6534 Vol.2. The gas loop should end after the calculation of
the total rod gas plenum temperature and gas pressure. The updated
figure can be seen below

PNNL has discovered an error in equation 9.5 on page 9.10 of NUREG/CR-6534
Vol.1. The definition of n(T) is given as
n(T) = 9.490E-2 + T•(1.165E-3 + T•(-1.992E-6 + T•9.588E-10))
it should be
n(T) = -9.490E-2 + T•(1.165E-3 + T•(-1.992E-6 + T•9.588E-10))
It should be noted that this relationship for n(T) is valid up to1100
K. Above this temperature, FRAPCON-3 has other relationships for
n(T), although cladding temperatures should not go above 1100 K in the
steady-state application.
Likewise, the definition of K(T) on page 9.8 of NUREG/CR-6534 Vol.1
is valid up to 750 K. FRAPCON-3 has other relationships for K(T)
above this temperature, although cladding temperatures should not go above
750 K in the steady state application
The FORTRAN in the FRAPCON-3 codes is correct in this regard; this is
a documentation error, not a FORTRAN error.

C.B. Lee of KAERI points out that Figures 3.9 and 3.10 in NUREG/CR-6534
Vol.3 are in error. They are supposed to be code-data fuel temperature
comparisons for IFA-432, Rod 3, but the published figures correspond with
Figures A2.9 (a) and (b) from the same document, which relate to IFA-432
Rod 1. The corrected figures are shown below.

PNNL has discovered that Figures A2.6 and A2.7 in NUREG/CR-6534 Vol.3 are
plotted against a time scale that is inconsistent with the time scale used
for all other IFA-432 data plots and code-data comparison plots. The corrected
figures are shown below.

NUREG/CR-6534 volume 1, Section 4.4 (delay to onset of fuel swelling)
A. Shestopalov of the Kurchatov Institute, Russia, points out that
the delay to onset of fuel swelling imposed within the FRAPCON-3 fuel swelling
model (subroutine SWELL) is 6.0 MWd/MTU, not the 2.13 MWd/MTU implied in
Section 4.4 (page 4.5) of Volume 1 of NUREG/CR-6534.
NUREG/CR-6534 (volume 1)

Chan Bock Lee of KAERI and others have pointed out that Figure 6.4 in Volume
1 of NUREG/CR-6534 is erroneously and exact copy of Figure 6.5; Similarly,
Figure 6.6 is a copy of Figure 6.7. The correct versions of Figures 6.4
and 6.6 for Volume 1 are shown below. Click graph for a larger image.

Volume 2, page 2.13 (section 2.3.4.3 on Conductance through points
of contact)
The units for the various parameters in the equations are wrongly defined
with respect to the numerical constants in the equations. In particular,
hsolid is in BTU/second/ft2-°F; the conductivities
are in BTU/second/ft-EF; and the roughnesses are in inches; except R2 is
in microinches.
The simplest fix is to replace this section with 7.3, pages 7.2 and
7.3 of Volume 1. The latter section is consistent with the FORTRAN in subroutine
GAPRS and is in consistent units.
NUREG/CR-6534 (PNNL-11513 volume 3)
Volume 3, Appendix A.8 ("Case input for NRX Test Rod CBP") page A8.4,
Table A8.4:
Table Title should read "FRAPCON-3 Input for NRX Test Rod CBP and Notes
on Derivation"
and the the entry for "totl" should read 0.798 (feet), not 0.6885. Because
of the nature of the test/input, this error has no effect on predicted
results.
NUREG/CR-6534 volume 1, Section 10 (Axial Growth Model)
The value of the constant "C" in the axial growth model (page 10.4)
should be 9.09E-25, not 2.8E-25 per n/m^2. The value is quoted correctly
in Figure 10.2 (Page 10.3), because in that figure the strain is quoted
in %. The FRAPCON-3 coding is correct; only the documentation in volume
1 page 10.4 is in error.
