FEDS - Facility Energy Decision System

The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) has historically offered training on the FEDS software. However, at the current time, FEMP is not offering any FEDS workshops. Individual agencies may contract directly with PNNL for a variety of FEDS training options (if interested, please send an email to ).

Traditionally, the training has been conducted as a one-day introductory course plus a two-day advanced course, although other options may be available.

Introduction to FEDS

Explore the features and capabilities of FEDS and learn how to use the software in the Introduction to FEDS workshop. Discussions and hands-on exercises are combined to give you an understanding of the software, how to input data, modify parameters, and run FEDS to analyze savings opportunities.

Advanced FEDS*

Bring your own facility information (a list of required information will be provided upon registration) and have instructors help you: 1) prepare your FEDS case, 2) run FEDS on your case, 3) study FEDS results, and 4) identify potential projects. (Given the hands-on nature of this course, class size is limited, so sign up early!)
*Prerequisite: Introduction to FEDS or familiarity with FEDS software

You may check the availability of upcoming FEMP workshops online or contact Beverly Dyer at (202) 586-7753 or to inquire about the possibility of future FEDS workshops.
