FEDS - Facility Energy Decision System

While FEDS is designed to be easy to use, some training and guidance can be beneficial as you learn to use FEDS most productively to meet your specific goals. The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) has historically offered training on the FEDS software. However, at the current time, FEMP is not offering any FEDS workshops (you may check the availability of upcoming FEMP workshops online). Individual agencies may contract directly with PNNL for a variety of FEDS training options;if interested, please send an email request to .

A number of training options are available, from the traditional one-day introductory and two-day advanced courses, to a variety of custom options to meet your needs.

Introduction to FEDS

Explore the features and capabilities of FEDS and learn how to use the software in the Introduction to FEDS workshop. Discussions and hands-on exercises are combined to give you an understanding of the software, how to input data, modify parameters, and run FEDS to analyze savings opportunities.

Advanced FEDS*

Bring your own facility information (a list of required information will be provided upon registration) and have instructors help you: 1) prepare your FEDS case, 2) run FEDS on your case, 3) study FEDS results, and 4) identify potential projects. (Given the hands-on nature of this course, class size is limited, so sign up early!)
*Prerequisite: Introduction to FEDS or familiarity with FEDS software

These can range from a variety of remote webinar sessions to on-site hands-on training focused on practical aspects of building auditing and FEDS analysis.
