FEDS 6.0.1 Update

This update to the FEDS 6.0 software contains a number of important data updates, enhancements and corrections. Some of the changes (such as the new energy escalation rates) will have significant impacts on analyses and it is therefore highly recommended that you download and install this update as soon as possible. Key changes in this update include the following:

  1. New 2009 energy escalation rate projections from EIA and NIST
  2. New weather data for locations in Japan
  3. Fix to a problem that prevented a handful of existing weather data files from operating properly (e.g., weather cities with names that contain an apostrophe)
  4. Correction to the energy escalation rates used for locations in Quebec, Canada
  5. Minor updates to text within the user interface and help system and updates to range tests for better clarification of requested inputs
  6. Improved technology inferences
  7. Fix to life-cycle costing module error that resulted in miscalculation of select economic parameters under a rare combination of circumstances
  8. Improved handling of inputs and model behavior related to the specification of multiple heating and cooling technologies serving a portion of each building in the building set
  9. Fix to the handling and calculation of emissions associated with central energy plants and thermal loops that serve other central energy plants
  10. Fix to energy consumption reporting for motors operating under seasonal utilization rates within dual-use building sets
