It is DOE's policy to conduct its operations in an environmentally responsible manner and comply with
applicable environmental standards. At the Hanford Site, a variety of environmental activities are performed to
comply with laws and regulations, enhance environmental quality, and monitor the impact of environmental
pollutants from Site operations.
This section summarizes significant activities conducted in 1994 to monitor the meteorology and climatology of
the Site, assess the status of wildlife and cultural resources, and conduct special environmental programs.
