Experience

Since joining Battelle in 1972, he has served in positions of a technical contributor, a member of intra- and interdisciplinary research teams, project/program manager, line manager, and manager of research operations. He currently leads the laboratory's research activities in support of the USDOE Federal Energy Management Program, but also has either supported or directed projects for all major Federal agencies, state and local governments, and private industry.

During his career at Battelle, he has completed research activities that have focused on metering both electrical and fossil fuel end-uses in both commercial and residential buildings, preparation of environmental impact statements supporting either Federal programs or licensing or re-licensing of commercial reactor sites, field activities supporting renewable resource assessments, and developing software models to characterize atmospheric and diffusion in unique environments. He has either authored or co-authored over 100 technical reports and articles on a variety of technical subjects ranging from atmospheric transport and diffusion to energy efficiency.

He was part of a Laboratory team that was presented the 2004 Presidential Award for Excellence in Federal Energy Management. He is a member of both the American Meteorological Society, the Association of Energy Engineers, and served as the President of the Inland Empire Chapter (eastern Washington and Idaho) of the Pacific Northwest International Section of the Air & Waste Management Association.
