Experience

John Hail supports the development and deployment of new concepts, methods, and technologies related to the planning, design, construction, and operation of facilities and systems. Prior to joining the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in 1990, John was an architect and a capital projects manager for private and public projects in California, Oregon, and Alaska, including for the University of Alaska and the University of California.

At the Laboratory, John began as a facility planner and operations program developer for the Facilities & Operations Directorate. He was a key developer of capital and operations and maintenance proposals. John developed and managed an energy management program for the Laboratory's 2 million square feet with a $10M utility and staffing budget.

John joined the Laboratory's Energy Division to help develop and deploy facility and energy management programs and projects for the Laboratory's federal clients. The major deployments include Energy Savings Performance Contracts and nation-wide building retuning initiatives. A major current project is deploying multi-million dollar national security technology projects for the Department of Homeland Security.
