Experience

Don Hadley leads and is a primary contributor to a PNNL multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists providing building and facility Threat Vulnerability and Protection Assessments (TVPA) for federal agencies and private industries. Don also supports a multi-National Lab program for the Department of Homeland Security for significantly improving technologies and capabilities needed for rapid response and restoration of a facility contaminated with a chemical agent. He was a key contributor and the Battelle Northwest Division lead for a DARPA contract in building contamination dispersion modeling and mitigation strategies. Don serves as the Building Sciences representative to the Laboratory Chemical and Biological Defense program, and has been a member of the PNNL Institutional Biological Safety Committee since 2002.

Since joining PNNL in 1981, Don has been active in research programs in the building energy sciences, including building ventilation and infiltration studies, building air flow modeling, indoor air quality. In recent years, the primary focus of his work has been in the Federal sector, especially the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and the U.S. Army.

In 2000, Mr. Hadley was the recipient of three prestigious U.S. Department of Energy energy management awards.

Don Hadley has authored over 50 technical reports and articles on energy efficiency and energy cost reduction, new technology demonstrations, and TVPA assessments.
